minke 어원

작은 고래의 일종인 Balaenoptera acutorostrata로, 1939년에 노르웨이 성씨 Meincke에서 유래된 것으로 알려져 있습니다.

The name minke is said to have derived from one of Svend Foyn's crew by the name of Meincke, who mistook a school of these whales for blue whales.
