acrophobe 的詞源

"恐高症"，1887年，醫學拉丁語，源自希臘語 akros "在末端，最高點"（來自 PIE 詞根 *ak- "尖銳，上升（出）到一個點，刺穿"）+ -phobia "恐懼"。由意大利醫生安德烈亞·韋爾加（Andrea Verga）在一篇描述該病症的論文中創造，韋爾加本人也患有該病。
