「 mysticism 」の語源

「普通の理解力を超えると信じられる精神的な啓示に依存する思考や生活の様式」を指し、1736年に mystic（形容詞）と -ism（名詞の接尾辞）を組み合わせて作られました。特に宗教的な文脈で使われることが多く、啓蒙時代以降は自己欺瞞や夢見がちな思考の混乱を示す批判的な言葉としても使われています。
