Percheron 어원

노르망디에서 원래 사육된 드래프트 말의 일종으로, 1846년부터 영어 출판물에서 프랑스 말 품종으로 언급되었으며, 프랑스어 Percheron에서 유래되었습니다. 이 형용사는 le Perche에서 파생된 것으로, 노르망디 남쪽 지역을 가리킵니다.

사육자들은 1868년부터 미국에서 이 말을 홍보하기 시작했으며, 이곳에서는 친숙하게 Norman horses라고도 불렸습니다.
