Tupperware 어원

상표 (등록, 미국)로, 초대받은 손님들이 사적으로 열리는 "파티"에서 잠재 구매자에게 판매되는 플라스틱 용기 제품군을 의미합니다. 1947년부터 인기를 끌었으며, 이름은 ware (명사)와 뉴잉글랜드의 화학자이자 발명가인 Earl S. Tupper의 이름에서 유래되었습니다. 그는 Tupperware Corp.를 설립했지만, 전후 제한이 해제된 후에야 비로소 성공을 거두게 됩니다.
