trilby 的詞源

帽子的类型，1897年，来自Trilby O'Ferrall，乔治·杜·莫里埃（George du Maurier，1834-1896）小说的同名女主角，1894年以连载形式出版，配有插图，并立即受到欢迎。

在1895年小说的舞台剧版本中，角色戴着这种软毛毡帽。复数形式是“脚”的俚语（1895年），指的是小说中女主角赤脚所附带的色情意味。当宣布制作舞台剧版本的计划时，出现了“脚灯”的笑话。
