Satanist 的詞源

基督教中代表至邪惡的精神和人類的大敵的專有名詞，古英語爲 Satan，源自晚期拉丁語 Satan（僅在拉丁聖經的舊約中出現），源自希臘語 Satanas，源自希伯來語 satan “對抗他人的敵人，密謀他人的人”，源自 satan “對抗、反對、密謀”，源自詞根 s-t-n “反對、阻礙或充當對手的人”。

In biblical sources the Hebrew term the satan describes an adversarial role. It is not the name of a particular character.
