amusement 的詞源

1640年代，“注意力的轉移”，尤其是在軍事行動中，源自法語 amusement，是 amuser 的名詞形式（見 amuse）。

“消遣，遊戲，玩耍，任何愉快地分散注意力的事物”（從職責、工作等中）的意思始於1670年代，最初是貶義的； “愉快的消遣”這一含義始於1690年代。1862年出現了 Amusement hall，1897年出現了 amusement park。
