gesticulation 的詞源

15世紀早期，源自拉丁語 gesticulationem（主格 gesticulatio），動作名詞，來自 gesticulari 的過去分詞詞幹“做手勢，模仿”，源自 gesticulus “模仿手勢”的愛稱，是 gestus “手勢； 姿勢”的小型化，是 gerere “承載，攜帶”的過去分詞的名詞用法（參見 gest）。
