rung 的詞源

“晚期古英語 hrung”指“棒，橫杆； 粗壯的圓木”，源自原始日耳曼語 *khrungo（其他來源包括中古低地德語 runge，古高地德語 runga，“樁，釘，木棍”，德語 Runge，“樁，釘，木棍”，中古荷蘭語 ronghe，荷蘭語 rong，“橫木”，哥特語 hrugga，“杆”），這個詞的起源不明，如果按照假設，凱爾特語的詞彙是從英語中借來的，那麼這個詞就沒有與日耳曼語之外的語言聯繫。
