sic 的詞源

"such," 是一個拉丁詞，在印刷引用中插入括號，以指出原文中的錯誤； 字面意思是 "這樣，如此，在這種方式下"，與 si "如果" 有關，源自 PIE 詞根 *so- "這個，那個"（也是 Old English sio "她" 的來源）。它在英語出版物中從1876年開始常見，可能受到法語中類似用法的影響（1872年）。
