Inoltre, mother-fucker, già nel 1956, era solitamente un semplice intensificatore di fucker. Si implica in forma abbreviata mother (con il contesto reso chiaro) già nel 1928; motherfucking risale al 1906. L'abbreviazione m.f. (per motherfucking) appare in una resa del linguaggio militare nei "Pisan Cantos" di Pound (1948).
