「 Medici 」の語源

15世紀にフィレンツェを支配したイタリアの家族で、もともとは medico（「医師」を意味する単語）の複数形で、ラテン語の medicus（medical（形容詞）を参照）から派生しています。関連語としては Medicean があります。
