artiste 어원

"어떤 미술로 간주되지 않는 예술에서 능숙한 사람; 자신의 직업을 예술로 만드는 사람"이라는 의미로, 1819년 영어에서, 1804년 프랑스어에서 영어로 유입되었고, 프랑스어 artiste에서 유래되었다. artist의 영어 재차 빌림으로, 처음에는 외국 문맥에서 사용되었으나, 이후 artist의 의미가 시각 예술, 특히 회화로 제한되면서 그 공백을 메우기 위해 사용되었다.
