또한 bulldyke, bull-dike, "남성적 경향을 가진 레즈비언," 1926; 이전에는 bulldyker, bulldycker가 1906년까지 같은 의미로 사용되었으며, 필라델피아 속어로 알려져 있습니다.

"Dictionary of American Slang"에 따르면, 1896년의 한 출처는 dyke를 "음문"에 대한 속어로 나열하고, Farmer and Henley ("Slang and Its Analogues," 1893)는 "the female pubic hair"에 대한 "hedge on the dyke"를 가지고 있습니다. 

[T]he word appears first in the long forms, bulldiker and bulldyking, both used in the 1920s by American blacks. No African antecedents have been found for the term, however, which leads to the possibility that this is basically just another backcountry, barnyard word, perhaps a combination of BULL and DICK. 또한 OED가 헤드워드로 간주하는 변형 bulldagger (1932)도 있으며, 그러나 철자 bulldyker는 더 일찍 입증되었습니다.
