geophysics 的詞源

“自然科學，有機自然中運作原理的科學。”起源於 physic 中 “自然科學”的意義。也參見 -ics。詞源源於拉丁文的 physica （中性名詞複數形式）源於希臘文的 ta physika，字面意思爲“自然之物”，是亞里士多德自然論的書名。當前關於“物質和能量屬性的科學”的限定意義是在1715年出現的。

Before the rise of modern science, physics was usually defined as the science of that which is movable, or the science of natural bodies. It was commonly made to include all natural science.
