perplexity 的詞源

14世紀中期， perplexite，“困惑，懷疑，不確定性”，源自於古法語 perplexite “混亂，困惑”，來自於晚期拉丁語 perplexitatem（主格 perplexitas），源自於拉丁語 perplexus “困惑的，涉及的，交織的”，源自於 per- “完全”和 plexus “糾纏”，過去分詞形式爲 plectere “編織”（來自於 PIE 詞根 *plek- “編織”）。從1590年代開始，“引起困惑的事物，錯綜複雜的狀態或混亂狀態”。
