prohibition 的詞源

14世紀晚期， prohibicioun，“禁止或禁令的行爲，由當局發佈的禁令，禁止某些行爲的命令”，源自盎格魯-法語和古法語 prohibition, prohibicion（13世紀早期），源自拉丁語 prohibitionem（主格 prohibitio）“阻止，禁止； 法律禁止”，動作名詞，來自 prohibere “阻止，抑制，阻礙，預防”，來自 pro “離開，向前”（參見 pro-) + habere “持有”（來自 PIE 詞根 *ghabh- “給予或接受”）。
