shill 的詞源

"騙子、拍賣師等的誘餌"，1911年出現在揭露假拍賣的報紙中，可能最初是美國馬戲團或嘉年華行話中的一個詞，是 shilaber 、shillaber（1908年）的縮寫，意爲“試圖引誘或吸引顧客的人”，本身的起源也不明確，也是一個姓氏。嘉年華行話通常非常深奧。動詞“充當騙子”可追溯至1914年。相關詞彙： Shilled； shilling。
