syncretism 的詞源

在神学和哲学中，“试图调和不同信仰、派别等”，1610年代，来自法语 syncrétisme (17世纪) 和直接来自现代拉丁语 syncretismus (17世纪)，源自希腊语 synkrētismos “社区的联合”，来自 synkrētizein “联合对抗共同敌人”。

This word first passed into common use at the Reformation, and was then used indifferently, in both a good and a bad sense, to designate the attempted union of different sects on the basis of tenets common to all.
