「 deduct 」の語源

15世紀初頭、「評価や計算において取り除く、分離する、または除去する」という意味で、ラテン語のdeductus（deducere「導き下ろす、持ち去る」の過去分詞）から派生。以前はdeduceと相互に使われていた。Deductは部分や量を取り除くことを指し、subtractは数を取り除くことを指す。関連語：Deducted、deducting。
