discover 어원

약 1300년, discoveren, "공개하다, 드러내다, 폭로하다, 노출하다, 공개하다, (누군가의 비밀을) 배신하다"라는 의미로, 현재는 사라진 의미로, 고대 프랑스어 descovrir "덮개를 벗기다, 지붕을 제거하다, 공개하다, 드러내다, 배신하다"의 어간에서 유래하였으며, 중세 라틴어 discooperire에서, 라틴어 dis- "반대의" (참조 dis-) + cooperire "덮다, 덮어다, 압도하다, 매장하다" (참조 cover (v.))에서 유래하였습니다.
