restricted 어원

"제한된, 구속된," 1830년, restrict에서 유래된 과거 분사 형용사. 정부 문서 등에서 "비밀, 공개적이지 않은 것"은 1944년부터 기록됨. 관련: Restrictedly. 더 오래된 형용사는 단순히 restrict였음. 20세기 중반 미국에서 restricted는 "유대인 출입 금지"의 완곡어법이었음 (1947년).
