Collins 的詞源

這個男性專有名詞來自法語 Colin，是 Col 的縮 diminutive，進一步縮 diminutive 於 Nicolas（參見 Nicholas）。在田園詩中，這個名字常被用作牧羊人的名字。

1807年，“杜松子酒；杜松子酒的拟人化。”在较早的用法中可以指任何杜松子酒，但后来特指一种传统的甜杜松子酒，是伦敦干型杜松子酒的前身。
