SWAK 的詞源

“sealed with a kiss”的首字母縮寫，可以追溯到1911年，出現在一份法律出版物中，引用了一封1909年的信：

"... Well Kid I don't know nothing else to say only that I hope to see your sweet face Sat. Good by from your Dear Husban to his sweet little wife. P. S. excuse bad writing and mispelled words take all mistakes as kisses. S.W.A.K. * * *" This letter was postmarked at Des Moines October 20, 1909, addressed to Carrie Sprague at Jefferson, Iowa, and reached the latter place October 21, 1909. [State v. 在第一次世界大戰期間，這個詞在士兵們寫給家人的信中流行起來。它可能也是爲了模仿親吻的聲音。與中古英語中的 swack “一次猛烈的打擊”（14世紀末）相比較。
