bachelorette 的詞源

"未婚女子"，1896年，源自 bachelor，加上法語後綴 -ette。它取代了早期的 bachelor-girl（1888年）。這個詞似乎是在英語中形成的； 古法語有 bachelette “年輕女孩”（15世紀），還有 bachelle 、bacelette 、bachelote； 據說現代法語只在“學生”意義上使用 bachelière。
