blindness 的詞源

古英语 blind “失明的”，也指“黑暗的，笼罩在黑暗中，模糊的；愚蠢的，缺乏心理感知的”，可能来自原始日耳曼语 *blindaz “失明的”（也是古弗里西语、古萨克逊语、荷兰语和德语 blind，古诺尔斯语 blindr，哥特语 blinds 的来源），“使模糊，欺骗”的概念，来自印欧语根 *bhel- (1) “闪光，燃烧”的扩展日耳曼语形式。
