side-swipe 的詞源

晚期古英語，“長，寬，寬敞； 沿着長度延伸”，源自 side（n.）。與古諾爾斯語 siðr “長，垂下”相比。從14世紀後期開始，“來自或朝向側面”，因此也“從主要課程中分離出來”。例如 side-road（1854）； side-trip（1911）。在 side-eye（1922年之前）中，概念是“側向指向”。
