capitalism 어원

1854년, "자본을 가진 상태"라는 의미로 사용되었으며, 이는 capital (명사 1형)과 -ism의 결합에서 유래했습니다. "자본가를 장려하는 정치적/경제적 시스템"이라는 의미는 1872년부터 기록되었으며, 원래는 사회주의자들이 경멸적으로 사용했습니다. "소수의 손에 자본이 집중되는 현상; 대자본의 권력이나 영향력"이라는 의미는 1877년부터 나타났습니다.

"Capital" may be most briefly described as wealth producing more wealth; and "capitalism" as the system directing that process. This latter term came into general use during the second half of the 19th century as a word chiefly signifying the world-wide modern system of organizing production and trade by private enterprise free to seek profit and fortune by employing for wages the mass of human labour.
