daddy 어원

1500년경, dad의 구어체 축약형으로, -y (3)를 사용. 은어 daddy-o는 1925년 (Eugene O'Neill)에서 입증되었지만, 1940년대 후반 재즈 가사를 통해 더 큰 인기를 얻었다.

Daddy-long-legs는 1814년 영국에서 "crane-fly"라는 이름으로 사용되었으며, 여름철에 나타나는 날씬하고 긴 다리를 가진 곤충을 가리킨다. 미국에서는 1865년경에 작은 둥근 몸과 매우 길고 가느다란 다리를 가진 거미류를 지칭하는 단어로 사용되었다.
