buzzword 的詞源

"繁忙的謠言" [羅伊]，1620年代（早期爲"幻想"，約1600年），比喻用法源自 buzz（動詞）。"嗡嗡聲"的字面意義來自1640年代。在20世紀初，"嗡嗡聲"是飛機的特徵聲音； 因此，動詞意義上的"迅速飛行"於1928年出現； 到1940年，尤其在軍事用途中，指"低空飛行作爲警告信號"（例如，目標訓練即將開始）：
