discoverable 的詞源

約在1300年， discoveren，“泄漏，揭示，披露，暴露，公開展示，背叛（某人的祕密）”，當前這些意義已經過時，來自舊法語 descovrir 的詞幹，“揭開，揭掉屋頂，揭開，揭露，出賣”，源自中世紀拉丁語 discooperire，來自拉丁語 dis- 的“相反的”（參見 dis-）和“掩蓋，覆蓋，壓倒，埋葬”的 cooperire（參見 cover (v.)）。

它實際上是-ble，來自拉丁語-bilis（元音通常來自被附加動詞的詞幹結尾），代表原始印歐語*-tro-，一個用來形成工具名詞的後綴，與英語rudder和saddle（名詞）的第二音節同源。
