tunable 的詞源

「調整（聲音或樂器的音調），使其達到正確或標準音高」，大約在1500年出現，來自tune（名詞）。早期意義為「發出樂器聲音」（14世紀末），「吟誦，朗誦，唱誦」（15世紀中期）。

比喻意義上，「使處於適當或理想狀態」出現於1520年代，因此在非音樂領域也有「使機器準備好工作」（1814年）的用法；還有「調整（耳朵，接收器），使其適合某種目的」，該用法記錄於1887年。
