exploitation 的詞源

1803年，“某物的生產性工作”，是最早使用它的人們中的一個積極詞彙，儘管被認爲是法國用語，源自法語 exploitation，是 exploiter 的動作名詞（參見 exploit（v.））。1830年代至1850年代發展出了負面含義，部分原因是受法國社會主義著作（尤其是聖西門）的影響，也可能受到美國反奴隸制寫作中使用該詞的影響； exploitation 曾經被用作讚美的詞彙，但現在被用作侮辱性詞彙。
