train of thought 的詞源

14世紀末，「裙子、長袍或斗篷的拖尾部分；隨行人員，隊伍」，來自古法語 train「軌跡，路徑，長袍或裙子的拖曳部分；拖曳的行為」，源自 trainer「拉，拖，拽」，來自粗俗拉丁語 *traginare，延伸自 *tragere「拉」，是從 tractus 的回溯形成，為拉丁語 trahere「拉，拖」的過去分詞（參見 tract (n.1)）。
