「 gourmand 」の語源

15世紀後半に登場した gourmaunt（「大食漢」）という言葉は、古フランス語の gormant（「大食漢」）に由来し、元々は形容詞として「大食の」を意味していましたが、その起源ははっきりしていません。gourmet（「美食家」）とは関係ないとされています。「美味しい食事を好む人」という意味で使われるようになったのは1758年からです。
