liveware 的詞源

1540年代，“有生命，不死”，是alive（参见）的缩写。从1610年代起用于火、煤等，“燃烧，发光”；1640年代用于事物、条件等，“充满活跃的力量”；“包含未耗尽的能量或力量”（live ammunition）的意义始于1799年。

“亲自，不录制”（指表演）的意义始于1917年。Live wire始于1890年，“电流流过的电路”；“活跃的人”的比喻意义始于1903年。幽默的real live“真实的”始于1887年。较早的形容词是lively。

到1851年，“soft-wares”，指的是“羊毛或棉織物”，也指“相對易腐的消費品”，源於 soft 和 ware（n.）。在計算機方面的使用是一個獨立的新詞，可以追溯到1960年，基於計算機領域中的 hardware。
