paraclete 的詞源

15世紀中葉， Paraclit，聖靈的稱號，源自古法語 paraclet（13世紀），來自中世紀拉丁語 paracletus，源自教會拉丁語對希臘語 paraklētos 的翻譯，意爲“辯護者，代禱者，法律助手”，是一個形容詞的名詞用法，意爲“被召喚來幫助”，源自 parakalein “召喚來幫助”，後來用於“安慰，撫慰”的意義，源自 para（參見 para-（1））+ kalein “召喚”（源自 PIE 詞根 *kele-（2）“呼喊”）。
