「 Limburger 」の語源

有名な強烈な臭いを持つチーズの一種で、1870年に使われ始めました。これは Limburger cheese（1817年）の略称で、ベルギー北東部の Limburg という地方で作られています。この地名は、ゲルマン語の *lindo（「ライムの木」、linden 参照）と *burg（「防御施設」）に由来しています。

Some frauds a few years ago started a Limburger cheese factory down in Keyport, New Jersey, but the imposition was soon exposed.
