taste 的詞源

约1300年，tasten，“感知（某物）的味道”；“尝一点食物或饮料；试验质量或味道”；来自古法语taster“品尝，通过口腔取样；享受”（13世纪），更早的意思是“感受，触摸，抚摸，摩擦”（12世纪，现代法语tâter），来自俗拉丁语*tastare，显然是一个变体（可能受到gustare“品尝，取一点”的影响）taxtare，拉丁语taxare“评估，处理”的频率形式（参见tax (v.)）。
